LEMON RICE

Lemon Rice is  a south Indian recipe but it is enjoyed by all states of India.It is very delicious in taste as this recipe is the combination of lots of tasty and healthy ingredients.This is very simple recipe but the main ingredient lemon in this recipe enhances the taste of rice.This is a summer special recipe.Many people of south India also make this recipe on special festivals.This recipe includes peanuts,salt,urad dal,chana dal,curry leaves,mustard seeds,dry red chilies, green chilies and boiled rice.





For 250gm rice you need following ingredients.


  • Rice 250gm(1 glass).
  • Mustard seeds 1/2tsp.
  • Peanuts 50gm.
  • Urad dal 1 1/2tsp
  • Chana dal 1 1/2tsp.
  • Curry leaves 7-8.
  • Dry red chilies 2-3.
  • Green chilies 2-3.
  • Salt to taste.
  • Ginger garlic paste(1/2tsp)optional
  • Lemon juice 1-2tbsp
  • Turmeric 1/4tsp.
  • Oil 2tbsp

Method

Step1
In a pan add 2 tbsp of oil.Allow the oil to heat.
Step2
Add mustard seeds.stir fry.
Step3
Add curry leaves.
Step4
Add peanuts along with chana dal and urad dal.Stir continuously.
Step5
Add dry red chilies along with green chilies.Do not forget to stir.
Step6
Add salt to taste.Keep stirring.
Step7
Add turmeric powder.Mix all the ingredients very well.
Step8
Now it is time to add boiled rice.Slowly slowly mix the rice with these ingredients.
Step9
As the name indicates it is lemon rice ,so lemon juice is the main ingredients in this recipe.Pour 1-2 tbsp of lemon juice in rice.
Step10
Mix all the ingredients very well.your lemon rice is ready to eat.
Garnish with parsley leaves,coriander leaves or basil leaves.It is up to you.
