Pav Bhaji (Mumbai special and famous street food)Yummy,tasty food.

Pav bhaji is a famous street food of Mumbai in India.One can't forget the taste of this yummy recipe,if he or she has tasted it.This recipe is so famous that you can easily get it from any vendor to seven* hotel.This is the specialty of this recipe.It is very spicy and tangy in taste.In spite of spicy and tangy recipe,it is also a healthy as well.Many fresh and green vegetables are used to make this tasty recipe.This recipe is favourite of everyone.To make this recipe winter season is the best season,as you can easily get many green vegetables of your choice from market.


Lets get started

Ingredients for making PAV BHAJI


  • Butter 3-4 tsp
  • Onion 2-3
  • Cumin seeds 1tsp
  • Ginger,garlic paste 1tsp
  • Tomatoes 4
  • Green chillies 2-3
  • Red chilly powder  1/2tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/4tsp 
  • Salt to taste
  • Pav bhaji masala  2tsp full
  • Carrot(boiled) 2
  • Cabbage(chopped) 1cup
  • Potato(boiled) 4
  • Peas(boiled) 1cup
  • Capsicum(chopped)  3-4
  • Spicy tomato puree 1/2 bowl
  • Water 2 cup(add little by little)
  • Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  • Fresh pav as per your need
  • Lemon 1
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing
Method

Step1
Heat the tawa.Put onion,followed by butter.Let it melt and stir until golden brown.
Step2
Add ginger and garlic paste.Stir for 2 minutes to finish the raw smell of ginger and garlic.Put green chilies.Mix all the ingredients very well.
Step3
Add butter gradually.It is time to add tomatoes.Stir it until all tomatoes are cooked.Do not forget to stir.

Add raw vegetables like capsicum,cabbage.Stir continuously.
Step5
Add spices.First add salt,red chilly powder,turmeric powder,pav bhaji masala.Mix all the ingredients very well.
Step6
Now add boiled vegetables like peas,carrot and potatoes.Cook for few seconds.Mash the potatoes with your fingers while adding.
Step7
Now mash the potatoes with the help of masher.It should be 90% mashed.
Step8
After mashing the vegetables,add spicy tomato puree,to enhance the taste of this yummy pav bhaji recipe.Mostly vendors themselves make this tomato puree by using lots of tomatoes and dry red chilies.
Step9
Add water little by little to make a little gravy type bhaji.You need only 1 cup of water.Give it a nice mix.
Step10
Your Pav bhaji is ready to serve.Before serving garnish with fresh coriander leaves,lemon juice and more butter.

Now shallow fry the fresh pav with butter and serve with spicy and tangy Pav bhaji with onion rings,lemon,tomato and green chillies.
